Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri and his Devolution counterpart Eugene Wamalwa are currently recording statements at the Directorate of criminal Investigation (DCI) over the Arror and Kimwarer dam scandal.
Reports reaching Pulselive.co.ke say that the two were summoned to record statements over the loss of Sh21 billion in the Arror and Kimwarer dam scams.
“Today I recorded a statement @DCI_Kenya on Arror/Kimwarer dams probe where I clarified that they were not under my jurisdiction. Urged Kenyans to support the ongoing investigations and the fight against corruption by our agencies,” tweeted CS Wamalwa.
CSs Kiunjuru and Wamalwa both served in the Water Ministry.
Treasury CS
Their grilling comes just a few days after Treasury CS Henry Rotich was grilled for three days over the loss of the Sh21 billion.
During the grilling, CS Rotich was required to shed light on how in 2018, an Italian firm, CMC di Ravenna was paid Sh4.3 billion for the Arror dam, and Sh3.5 billion for the Kimwarer dam on November 6 the same year.
The Arror and Kimwarer dams were being implemented through Kerio Valley Development Agency (KVDA), with the National Land Commission (NLC) having gazetted 6,000 acres to be acquired for the projects.
