Why Uhuru’s lawyer is not pleased with visits to Moi’s home

Endorsement by BABA Moi must be the kiss of death

City lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has expressed his displeasure in the gazillion visits political leaders have been making to the home of retired President Daniel Moi.

Mr Abdulllahi sharply condemned the trips noting that they were uninspiring to the future of Kenya’s leadership.

The visits to check on the ailing president have been speculated to mean leaders are simply trying to solicit political goodwill and endorsement from Kenya’s first president.

"How can the ugly/old political order inspire/bless the new/inspiring future? I don't understand Kenya anymore!!! The blessing/endorsement by BABA Moi must be the kiss of death for anyone who wants to be our next president," Ahmednassir said.

His sentiments comes a day after Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho visited Mzee Moi where they discussed on how to unite Kenya.

"We had some talks with the retired president Moi on Saturday and I must tell you that it has helped in my journey to unite Kenyans because that is what he insisted that I should do and I will not let him down,” Joho said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga have also met with Mr Moi.

However, Deputy President William Ruto was blocked from meeting with Mzee Moi under controversial circumstances.
