Uhuru, Raila alleged secret trip to Dubai after China visit

President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday were claimed to have made a trip to Dubai after visiting China for the second Belt and Road forum.

Reports indicated that the two leaders had meetings in the Arab country with the reason of the meet up still unknown.

Kenyatta and Odinga's Saturday meetings were held at a private hotel in Dubai where most of their handlers were not present as reported by Standard.

The gathering by the leaders was pointed to have raised speculations after it had been confirmed the president had cancelled a trip to another Arab nation, Saudi Arabia.

According to Chief of Staff and Head of the President’s Delivery Unit Nzioka Waita, the cancellation was due to the people expected to meet with the president were preparing for Ramadhan.

Uhuru and Raila hold secret meeting in Mombasa

In July 2018, the Head of state and the ODM leader had met up in a secret meeting in Mombasa.

Odinga had joined Kenyatta in the coastal town where the president had gone for a five-day visit.

It was proclaimed that the duo had met to discuss matters of national importance.

Further information had termed the tour of the region by Kenyatta who is serving his final term in office, as not an official one.
