Celebrated athletics champion Eliud Kipchoge flew to Mombasa in style ahead of the Mashujaa Day celebrations to be held at the coastal city.
King Choge was flown to the Coastal city aboard a Kenya Forest Services helicopter ahead of Sunday celebrations.
The world marathon record holder checked into Pride Inn Paradise Beach Resort and Spa in Mombasa under tight presidential security.
Accompanying him was Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, his coach Patrick Sang and Athletics Kenya president Jackson Tuwei.
Kipchoge is expected to be recognised by the President during the fete at Mama Ngina Waterfront.
Last Saturday, Kipchoge became the first man in history to finish a marathon in under two hours. Kipchoge who was supported by a rotating team of 41 pacesetters took Vienna by storm by running 26.2 miles in in a record time of 1:59:40 at the INEOS Challenge.
