Media coverage was highly reduced, a clear indication of every intention to keep the visist as private as possible.

Media houses pushed their staff to the extreme to get photos and footage of the dignitary as security detail ensured that media houses were kept at bay.

Journalists were restricted to several meters away from the man of the moment and only managed to capture a footage of the convoy snaking its way from the airport to State House where Obama met his host President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Details about the proceedings at State House remained scanty with only two images emerging from State House where he held talks with his host.

This is in sharp contrast to his previous visit when almost every moment was captured on camera on live broadcast.

Only a handful of journalists have been accredited to cover tomorrow’s launch of Sauti Kuu resource center.

Citizen TV has the exclusive rights to broadcast the event and will provide the event live-feed link to other media houses.

Part of the reason given is that the space available is limited hence media houses agreed to have Citizen cover the high-profile event and share the footage with other broadcasters-a practice that is common in media.

Obama is scheduled to meet opposition chief Raila Odinga before flying to his ancestral home in Kogelo, Siaya county.
