Presidential candidate concedes defeat
The presidential candidate congratulated Uhuru and praised Raila.
Speaking on Thursday at the Bomas of Kenya, the The Third Way Alliance leader said the elections are all over for him.
"There is a reason why the results have put President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of us. Congratulations on the lead and should you form the next government, I hope you make it an all inclusive one," Aukot said.
Aukot also thanked NASA candidate Raila Odinga for his contribution to democracy in Kenya.
However Aukot revealed that both his alliance, Jubilee Party and the NASA coalition agreed that the electoral tallying and transmission process did not perform to expectations as earlier anticipated.
"The minority have had their say and the majority have had their way. We live to fight another day," he reiterated.
Aukot's move brings to two the number of presidential candidates that have conceded defeat.
On Wednesday, independent candidate Japheth Kaluyu bowed out of the presidential race. ha
Kaluyu disclosed he had reached the decision after coming to the realisation that he stood no chance of winning the State House race given the clear lead by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
