Fierce gun fight as Al Shabaab attacks police station

According to emerging reports, the alleged terrorists attacked a police post  in Pandangua and a school at around 5.30 am and vandalized property.

The militants also destroyed a communication mast.

Confirming the report, Coast police boss Philip Timur divulged that the security agencies were still on the ground.

“The engagement is ongoing and we are waiting for more response from the ground,” Mr. Timur was quoted by a local daily as saying.

Details are still scanty on the number of casualties.
