Capital FM boss speaks after reports Hits Not Homework crew had been fired

He comes clean!

 Hits not home work crew

Capital FM Programmes Controller Michael Waithaka has come clean after reports that the Hits Not Homework crew had been fired from the station.

Speaking to a local daily, Waithaka trashed reports that the presenters had been fired saying that what happened was a restructuring that would see them assigned new roles.

He added that the hosts were only given one a year contract which ended at the beginning of the year and they will now be re-assigned to work according to their strengths.

According to the Programmes Controller, one of the hosts Anne Mwaura moved from the show about six months ago and all that was said were just stories.

He added that Anne Mwaura was moved to the Fuse, and Tracy Wanjiru was moved to Saturday Breakfast.

“The show just needed direction. They were on a one year contract from Capital One of which ended in January but that doesn’t mean that they are out of Capital. Because basically what was supposed to happen every year we had agreed on refreshing the show, we had targets. No one has been fired, Anne moved to The Fuse, Tracy is on Saturday breakfast,” said Michael Waithaka.

His words come a day after media reports said that the three; Anita Nderu, Tracy Wanjiru and DJ Jo Kisila, who were hired to replace Amina Abdi Rabar had been let go on grounds that the show has flopped.

The reports further said that Capital had poached Neville from Homeboyz radio to take over the Hits not homework that has been losing its popularity over time.
