Award-winning Kenyan Boys Band Sauti Sol was among the guests at an exclusive event by National Basketball Association (NBA) to launch the jr. NBA Africa league in Kigali, Rwanda yesterday.
Savara Mudigi of Sauti Sol joined the inaugural team for a light training session under the watchful eyes of a team from NBA.
The launch dubbed #OCPJrNBA is a partnership between OCP (Office chérifien des phosphates), a chemical company, and NBA that aims to at expand the NBA Junior League programs in Morocco and Rwanda and build new basketball courts for the sport.
Through a post on their Instagram page, the Association revealed how proud they were of the Band that had started the âBEWELLâ campaign.

The band posted a message on the Gram thanking the Association for inviting them to join the launch.

The Jr. NBA Rwanda League will feature 30 boys and 30 girls school teams competing for their respective leaguesâ championship.
Each school team will represent one of the 30 NBA teams in each league and will receive corresponding NBA team-branded jerseys for their games.

Sauti Sol has been making headlines all through for the right reasons, realeasing hits after hits and making money moves.
Lucrative deal
Last week, the band behind âSol Generationâ music label landed a lucrative deal with Dutch Airline, KLM to produce a six-track album dubbed â1919 to Foreverâ in honour of KLMâs inception a century ago.
The record label that has a total of six members namely; BenSoul, Nviiiri the Storyteller, Crystal Asige and Kaskazini band (three members) were tasked to compose an album with a touch of love, escaping the rat race, communal celebrations and real-life issues the common Kenyan faces.
