5 most daring places to visit in Kenya

Are you brave enough?

These destinations are meant to make you heart sing and your eyes water with their beauty. But they also have hidden gems that make your heart beat faster and get your legs feeling like jelly.

1. Diani Beach- Skydiving

Diani is one of the world's most beautiful beaches. A sandy paradise bordered by crisp blue seas. The sunsets there are one of the most beautiful. However, Diani also invites you to jump out of a plane and prevent yourself from going splat by yanking on a glorified bedsheet. Sign us up, please.

2. Kerio Valley- Paragliding

Located in Eldoret, 500km from Nairobi, Kerio Valley is part of the Great Rift Valley. As the airspace around the valley boasts some of the world's best views and has no air traffic, the Kerio Valley is a great place to go paragliding. This is where you jump off a cliff and hang on to a giant kite. You becom eone with the birds, gliding across the valley defying men who believe that we were never meant to fly.

Incidentally, the valley also caters for cliff jumping.

When brown water turns white because it's suddenly coming across a multitude of rocks, it's not the first instinct to strap yourself into a kayak and allow yourself to get battered by the water. However, the Rapid Falls Camp in Sagana, Kirinyaga, don't give a hoot about instincts. A thrilling ride across the county's angriest waters awaits you- if you dare.

4. Tsavo West National Park- Rock climbing

Not only do you have to be worried about wildlife and mosquitoes- you also have to wonder whether rock faces could have a hapless climber about to topple to the ground. You don't, though.

5. Sagana- Bungee jumping

Unlike it's cousin, zip-lining where you slide down a semi-taut rope from point A to point B, bungee jumping reaches all new levels of daring as it requires you to be tied to essentially a giant rubber band then tossed off a high surface. The rubber band then reaches the extent of its elasticity and tugs you briefly just before you go splat. They say the free-fall is one of the best feelings in the world. Whoever they is, you should be inclined to believe them.
