Police Spokesperson Charles Owino has clarified that four Kenyans were involved in the car racing accident in Arusha, Tanzania.

He noted that three Kenyans - one female, three males - died in the tragic crash involving a Mitsubishi Colt with a Kenyan number plate and a green car registered in Tanzania.

"Four Kenyans were involved in the fatal road accident involving two motor vehicles, that occurred yesterday in Arusha.

"One Lady and two men passed on while the fourth person escaped with injuries," he stated.

Mr Owino further explained that one Kenyan had sustained serious injuries and would be airlifted to Kenya after receiving emergency treatment in Tanzania.

The bodies of the three were airlifted to Nairobi and the families had been notified to proceed to claim them.

"The next of kin of those who perished have already been informed and their bodies airlifted back to the country, while the survivor is in the process of being transferred home for Medication after stabilization by Tanzanian Medics," he added.

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici is among those in mourning. Her nephew Robin Njiru was the owner of the red car mangled in the accident.
