Prof. Magoha revoked the installation of Prof. Kiama as the new VC and immediately replaced him with Prof. Isaac Meroka Mbeche on an acting capacity.
In a Gazette Notice published last Friday, the CS went on to order that Prof. Kiama was to take up him former position.
"Prof. Kiama will continue dispensing his duties as Deputy Vice Chancellor Human Resource and Administration at the university," the notice read in part.
CS Magoha, however, did not elaborate the reasons why President Uhuru Kenyatta wanted Prof. Kiama's appointment revoked.
Not boarding
In a defiant move, Prof. Kiama refused to exit the office the VC adding that his appointment was justified.
"In the face of these developments, I urge you to continue to remain calm and maintain the peace and order that has subsisted since my appointment.
"Do not be given to acts of lawlessness as the peace and stability of the university are important to us all. As such, I continue in diligent service as your vice-chancellor and remain available to you all for guidance and direction," he stated in his official statement.
The University's council responsible for Prof. Kiama's appointment was also dissolved.
