Top Influential RiftValley leader flatly turns down DP Ruto

He categorically stated that the people of Uasin Gishu will not be intimidated.

Uasi Gishu governor aspirant has declined to step down in favor for his arch-rival upon the request of the deputy president.

Businessman Bundotich Kiprop popularly known as Buzeki has said he will not back down from the Uasin Gishu Governor race in favour for the incumbent, Jackson Mandago.

"I am an independent and that is final. He has cast his dice...I will cast mine too...No backing off. If Ruto supports what Mandago stands for then we now know him well," he said.

Buzeki who is running as an Independent ticket further added that Mandago is Ruto's project in the county and that "he does not stand for anything" and it is only the people who have the right to choose leaders.

"Let the people of Uasin Gishu decide on August 8,"

He spoke just hours after Deputy President William Ruto declared support for Mandago and asked him to quit the race.

During the nominations campaign period, the businessman was branded as a ‘Ruto’s project’ a tag he fought hard to shed on numerous TVs interviewees.

The businessman further stated that the people of Uasin Gishu will not be intimidated where their democratic rights are concerned.

He however noted that he will accept the poll results whatever the outcome and asked Mandago to do the same.

"Democracy must prevail. If he wins I will accept the results and back him but the likely result is that he will lose. Let him get ready to accept that and support me,"A
