Kenyan politicians have come out with mixed reactions over Kenya’s decision to hit back at the United Kingdom after Kenya was added to the UK's ‘red list’.
In a statement on Saturday, The Ministry of Foreign affairs issued new protocols in light of the UK’s move.
Some politicians have supported the move by the government while others have claimed it will affect the relationship between the two countries.
Kenya has decided to put all passengers originating from or transiting through UK airports to undergo a mandatory 14-day isolation at a government-designated facility at their own cost upon entry into the country.
Additionally, in isolation, those affected will be subject to take two PCR COVID-19 tests, on day 2 and day 8 of their quarantine, at their own cost.
Kenyan nationals who are residents in the United Kingdom or transiting through United Kingdom airports into the country are exempt from the new measures.
