“The people of Kirinyaga are and have always been for peace and development not chaos and hooliganism, and the ill-intended move by the two is an embarrassment to the people of Kirinyaga,” she said.

Waiguru called on the youth to join her in calling out the enemies of development and desist from being used to further personal political ambitions as she apologized to Deputy President William Ruto.

said Waiguru.

Governor Waiguru’s statement came after a group of rowdy youths interrupted the DP’s event in Kerugoya on Friday, demanding the exit of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.

Chants of “Waiguru must go” rent the air forcing the DP who was accompanied by several Jubilee leaders to intervene.

Following the ugly scene, none of the local leaders present addressed the crowd.
