Governor's brother found dead in an incomplete building

The brother to Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago was found dead in a building that is still under construction.

The body of the Governor's brother was discovered by a plumber who was going about his duties at the building located in Chepkanga market near Eldoret town.

Confirming the incident, Moiben Deputy County Commissioner Lilian Langat assured the pubic that investigations were underway.

"The body was found in an abandoned section of the building and police are carrying out the investigations so that we get to know exactly what happened

"Indeed, several people have recorded statements with the police and a post-mortem would be conducted soon," she stated.

Employee of Kenya Pipeline Corporation attached to Eldoret

The deceased was an employee of the Kenya Pipeline Corporation who had recently been transferred from the Kisumu branch to Eldoret.

Relatives were present at the scene when the body was recovered and transported to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

The family has, however, remained tight lipped about the matter since the body was discovered on Monday.

News of the death comes just a day after Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o lost his mother.

The Kisumu Governor is currently away from the country, however, leaders have relayed their condolence messages to him and his family.

ODM party leader Raila Odinga condoled: "Mama Ida Odinga and I mourn the passing of Mama Dorcas Owino Nyong'o, mother to Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o. Dorcas was a true matriarch and pillar of the Nyong'o family. She never stopped serving and guiding the family and the community she was part of despite her advancing years."

Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia also added: "My deepest condolences to my friend and colleague Prof. Anyang Nyong'o on passing on of his mother Mama Dorcas Owino Nyong'o. On behalf of my family and Nyandaruans, we pray for the family and friends during this sad moment. Remember that you are in our thoughts and prayers."
