Immediate former Sports and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa

Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has been removed from the cabinet in a reshuffle that has seen Education CS Amina Mohammed take over the Sports docket.

In an Executive Order issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, the president explained that the move was informed by a commitment to enhance efficiency, transparency and accountability at all levels of Government.

"In accordance with Article 152(5) of the Constitution, as read together with Article 152(1)(d) of the Constitution, the appointment of Mr Rashid Echesa Mohamed as a Cabinet Secretary has been vacated," Executive Order 3 of 2019 read in part.

Principal Secretary Fatuma Hirsi fired

State Department of Broadcasting & Telecommunication principal secretary Fatuma Hirsi, under the Ministry of ICT was also fired in the new order.

A number of PSs were also moved in the reshuffle, these include Wildlife PS Ali Noor Ismail who has been moved to State Department of Cooperatives, Dr Susan Koech was reassigned to the State Department of Wildlife.

EAC ministry PS Ms Susan Mochache was moved to the Ministry of Health and replaced by immediate former Natural Resources PS Margaret Mwakima.

Dr Ibrahim Mohamed has taken over the State Department of Environment & Forestry while Eng. Peter Kiplagat Tum has moved to the State Department of Labour.

The newest addition to the cabinet is KNEC Chairman Prof. George Magoha who has been appointed to the Education docket.
