Ken Okoth’s brother Imran Okoth wins ODM party ticket to face off with Mariga

Battle lines are drawn, Mariga vs Imran Okoth

Bernard Otieno Okoth, popularly called Imran Okoth is the ODM party nominee for the Kibra constituency by-election.

Okoth floored nine other opponents who were eyeing the party ticket and is set to face off with Jubilee’s MacDonald Mariga in the elections slated for 07 November.

Okoth was the Constituency manager during Ken Okoth’s tenure saw the implementation of various development initiatives at a time when his brother (now deceased) was bedridden.

He garnered 4382 votes in the day-long exercise that proceeded smoothly despite the low turn-out.

His rise to victory was not full of hallenges, coming face to face with hostile electorates during a public rally presided over by party leader Raila Odinga on 25 August 2019.

During the event held at Kamkunji grounds to unveil the ODM party contestants, Imran was heckled off the stage.
