Nation Media Group speaks on terminating Larry Madowo’s show

Speculations were rife that Larry Madowo's show 'Side Bar' could be terminated.

Through his official Twitter handle, NMG’s Managing Editor Linus Kaikai clarified that the memo was fake and did not originate from the media house as alleged.

In the memo dated 30 November 2017, Madowo is accused of open bias and lack of objectivity in his show “Sidebar”.

The memo further accused him of deliberately hosting panelists based on their political leaning and not their experience in the subject of discussion.

The memo read in part that Madowo should “refrain from biased political topics that do not add any value to our viewers” and further directed him “undertake due diligence before inviting guests to your show.”

According to the document which has since been disowned by NTV management, failure to institute the changes in the memo would lead to the immediate termination of the show.

Madowo is one of the leading journalists from the media house and is popular for the show “The Trend” that he previously hosted on NTV.
