Msabweni MP Suleiman Dori held a private meeting with ODM party leader Raila Odinga a day after he was listed among those facing expulsion.
The AU special envoy shared photos of the private meetings on his social media platforms without conveying the details of their meeting.
It is probable that the MP met with his party leader seeking to plead his case and maybe obtain some form of protection against being kicked out of the party.
Dori led the delegation of Coastal leaders who visited the former PM at his Capitol Hill offices.
On the Chopping Board
Dori is among eight other politicians in the Orange party who are facing expulsion after the disciplinary committee recommended the action in a report.
Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa was also named in the report and recommended for ouster after she endorsed deputy president William Ruto.
"ODM is not a party that tolerates disorder and unruly behaviour by her members.
"The Disciplinary Committee in its report recommended the expulsion from the party of Aisha Jumwa and Suleiman Dori for gross misconduct," the Tuesday statement read in part.
The ODM party leader also met with Suleiman Shahbal, a Jublilee party politician who vied for the Mombasa governor's seat and lost to ODM deputy party leader Hassan Joho.
