Nominated Member of Parliament Isaac Mwaura was on Tuesday evening rushed to Nairobi hospital after he was allegedly shot in the ear.
Mr Mwaura’s vehicle was also sprayed with bullets following the scuffle which erupted between his supporters and those of his rival in Ruiru.
The legislator, who is seeking the Ruiru Parliamentary seat, accused businessman and aspiring MP Simon King'ara of attempting to assassinate him.
Revealing the details on Facebook, Mwaura noted: “Assassination attempt by Simon King'ara , a bullet has pierced My left ear and car sprayed bullets . Rushed to Nairobi Hospital”.

Speaking to journalists, the lawmaker who recently decamped ODM for Jubilee mentioned: “It was an assassination attempt. These people were trying to uproot a boda boda shed I’d built so that they would build theirs on the same place and they attacked me when I tried to stop them”.
Mr Mwaura posted bloody photos on social media after the attack.
He has since reported the matter at Ruiru Police Station.
