An early morning accident on the Thika Highway on Tuesday claimed two lives and left scores injured.

The tragic incident happened at Gwa Kairu area, outside Kenyatta University’s Ruiru Campus. Those injured were rushed to hospital.

A public service van overturned in circumstances that remain unclear.

The accident caused a traffic snarl up on the inbound service lane, even as police rushed to clear the scene.
