'Riverdale' Pauses Production After Perry's Death
Perry, who played Archie Andrews' dad Fred on the CW thriller series, was hospitalized on Wednesday for a massive stroke. On Monday, a rep for Perry confirmed his death to ET , providing the following statement:

"Actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke. He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fianc Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time."
Various Riverdale cast-members- among other celebrities -expressed their love for Perry on Monday. On Instagram, Riverdale actress Marisol Nichols, who plays Hermione Lodge, wrote that she didn't know what to say.
