"If ROCKY got a new dog this just might happen!!" He wrote in a caption for the video, which puts the pupper through his paces in a series of shots which pay homage to the iconic training montage from Rocky . The incredibly well-trained dog even recreates the scene where Rocky pummels a slab of meat here's hoping he got some as a reward when he was finished.

The video was originally posted by a Stallone fan account, @rockybalboa.1976 (the year in the handle refers to when the first Rocky movie came out).
Rocky Balboa did, famously, have a dog of his own: a huge bull mastiff named Butkus, who appeared in Rocky and Rocky II, and actually belonged to Stallone in real life. In the original script for Rocky, Stallone wrote that his character owned a "scruffy fleabag", but the film's budget was so tight that they couldn't afford a trained showbiz animal, and so Butkus got the part. He passed away in 1981, but according to an interview Stallone gave in 2015, he's still his desktop wallpaper.
Now, we know that one dog can never replace another but the scrappy underdog in the video is showing off some major Butkus energy, despite his lean size.
