Constance Wu 's new role in Hustlers is a major departure from her previous characters. Going from the ingnue professor Rachel Chu in Crazy Rich Asians and middle-aged mom on Fresh Off the Boat to playing a New York City stripper took a lot of hard work.

Constance was more than up for the challenge, and she revealed in interviews exactly how she prepared for her pole-dancing debut as Destiny. (Nbd she's just dancing alongside J.Lo and the rest of the star cast.)

She invested her own money in her prep before the movie started. "I installed a pole in my living room," Constance told New York Magazine . "I took pole classes; I took private coaching sessions."

Dennis Mugo, famously known as OJ from 'Tahidi High', was once a household name, celebrated for his charm and effortless portrayal of a high school bad boy. But years after his exit from the screens, his name now trends for different reasons.

Constance went deeper and got to know the people in the industry. "I became friends with a couple of strippers," she told the publication. "I went to a lot of strip clubs in San Francisco thats what I spent my Christmas Eve doing. I went with two of my guy friends, and we went to five different clubs. It was so f***ing fun. And nobody knew who I was. Im not really that famous. Also nobody expects this sitcom mother of three boys to be in a strip club."

Constance wasn't the only actress in Hustlers to visit a few strip clubs for the film. In fact, J.Lo did her own strip club recon and brought A-Rod along too. "I watched the ladies do their routines, met with them backstage, and talked about what it was like to have a career as a dancer," she told New York Magazine. "I soaked up the atmosphere and wanted to learn how to do things authentically." J.Lo added, "And their moves arent easy. They really are athletes."
