Explosion and heavy gunshots in Nairobi

Police have responded to a heavy explosion incident that was followed by heavy gunfire at Dusit Hotel in Riverside, Nairobi.

It is not clear the nature of the attack but witnesses reported hearing a loud blast that was followed by heavy gunfire.

Those stuck in the area were already being evacuated from the areas as at the time of reporting this incident.

Police have also secured a car that was used by the attackers - believed to be terrorists.

An eyewitness reported seeing 4 armed men entering Dusit hotel after which intermittent shooting started.
