Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Tuesday indicated that President Uhuru Kenyatta had made the first amendment to the constitution without the need for a referendum.
Through his facebook account, Kuria stated that the change was implemented through the appointments of Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, Treasury CS Henry Rotich and Interior PS Karanja Kibicho as heads to the newly formed committee by the President.
The controversial MP claimed that the appointments of the leaders was a similar thing he had proposed of having a Prime Minister and 2 Deputy Prime Ministers.

“Exactly what I had in mind when I proposed a Prime Minister and 2 Deputy Prime Ministers appointed by the President to assist the President and the Deputy President in these important roles.
“The first constitutional change has taken place without a referendum,” remarked Kuria.
Uhuru gives CS Matiang'i new role
Kenyatta on Tuesday appointed Matiang’i head of the new constituted National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee.
CS Rotich was appointed the Vice-chair in changes made by Kenyatta who is serving his final term in office.

ANC party leader Moses Mudavadi noted that the new role for the Interior CS is set to guarantee service delivery to Kenyans.
Mudavadi pointed out that the tough talking Matiang’i would bring efficiency within the national government and streamline projects and activities.
The NASA principal on his part disregarded claims that Deputy President William Ruto had been sidelined after Matiangi’s appointment.
