Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has once again clashed with Members of County Assembly (MCAs) in her county.
The MCAs have threatened an unspecified action against the first-time governor after she slashed Sh 50 million from the bursary budget.
The legislators, who held an urgent meeting on Sunday night, decried the reduction of the Sh 70 million allocation they had requested to Sh 20 million.
The MCAs argued that the new figure will leave each county with Sh 1 million for bursaries.
Sensing Foul Play
The MCAs have faulted their governor for changing the figures they had proposed accusing her of an ill intention.
They further accused the governor of attempting to misappropriate the funds slashed from the bursary allocation.
Deputy Speaker Joel Waugura summoned the MCAs moments after receiving official communiqué from Education CEC James Kinyua.
