For Pirelli, which is the manufacturer Bridgestone, Michelin, Continental and Goodyear tyres, will be concentrating on establishing whether the tyre burst – which is said to have caused the accident - occurred before or after the car hit guard rails at Kabati area in Murang’a.

In the Tuesday morning grisly crash, the car crashed through and broke 11 concrete pillars supporting the guard rail. The guard rail then penetrated and went through the car, seriously injuring the governor, his bodyguard and aide.

The bodyguard who has been treated and discharged, however, said that they were distracted by a cyclist on the road.

Meanwhile, the operations of the governor’s aides and driver are under scrutiny after it emerged he had not picked a specific driver for his official car, the Nation reported Thursday.
