Former National Youth service (NYS) Director General Richard Ndubai has finally spoken after reports that he tried to flee the country, after he was released from remand.
Ndubai who spoke to the Standard said that he was in Nairobi and people should ignore any reports that he tried to flee the country.
“I’m very much in Nairobi, ignore those reports,” said Ndubai.
Ndubai’s lawyer Migos Ogamba also said that those were reports meant to mislead Kenyans.
“I am with the DG and I wonder how he can be checking in at JKIA when he is here with me. Those are fake reports being created by people out to mislead Kenyans,” said Ogamba.
His words came even as the Kenya Airports Police Unit (KAPU) released a statement dismissing reports that the ex-NYS Director-General attempted to flee Kenya after his release from remand on Wednesday night.
Speculations were rife on social media Wednesday night through Thursday morning that Ndubai had booked a KQ flight to Dubai in the UAE, raising eyebrows on whether he deposited his travel documents as was ordered by the Courts.
