Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi caused a stir on Twitter after posting a video of what many termed as a 'fake' Kenyatta singing a popular reggae song while endorsing Jubilee party candidate for the Kibra by-election, Macdonald Mariga.
In the video shared by Itumbi, Jamaican artiste Kenyatta Hill endorses Mariga and announces that he will be in the country to celebrated Mariga, sparking an angry reaction from netizens.
“Kenya wagwan, this is Kenyatta Hill. On Sunday am coming to join you. Yes. I am coming to help you to make a decision. You know who we are going to celebrate with…We are to celebrate with Mariga.
“I am coming to help in support and to show my support for this brother-Mariga,” Hill stated in the short video.

Netizens were quick to express their disappointment with many pointing out that the decision to have Kenyatta Hill endorse Mariga was in itself a desperate move after failing to convince President Uhuru Kenyatta to attend any of the rallies in Kibra.
One Tom Mbayeye wrote: “Now you want to convince slum dwellers that Kenyatta Hill is a brother to our own Uhuru Kenyatta or you want to promise them that he can be Uhuru Kenyatta's brother if they vote in Mariga. Your are always amazing.”

Some pointed out that just like Mariga, Hill is neither a resident of Kibra nor a registered voter in the constituency and as such will not vote hence it is needless to even have him there.

Itumbi roasted after posting video of Kenyatta singing popular reggae song while endorsing Mariga
The move also angered many who accused the party of splashing millions to bring in the artiste instead of channeling it to uplift the lives of the poor voters in Kibra.
The Musician is expected in the country and will perform in a rally to drum up support for Mariga on Sunday.
