The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has revealed the identities of four cabinet secretaries who are under investigation for multi-billion shilling corruption.
DCI boss George Kinoti confirmed that all four CSs are scheduled to appear before him for questioning.
CSs Henry Rotich (Treasury), Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture), Simon Chelugui (Water) are accused of being involved in misappropriation of funds in the construction of four dams in the Rift Valley and the subsidized fertilizer programme.
CS Balala was summoned by the EACC over a Sh100 million contract in his ministry, putting the CS under the watch of the DCI.
"We are still compiling the list and there will be more in the days to come. This is a comprehensive exercise and we want to get to the bottom of all these scandals," Kinoti confirmed.
CS Rotich questioned by DCI in his home
DCI boss Kinoti also confirmed having questioned the Treasury CS over the disbursement of the funds in his home stating: "It is true I sent my officers to him to record a statement.”
Reports further indicate that the president is awaiting the final report form the investigations, which he will use to determine which CSs will be relieved of their duties.
The President held a meeting with CSs on Thursday and some sources have likened the proceedings of that meeting to "The Last Supper" adding that "Names will fall", according to Daily Nation.
