Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has provide more details on the much awaited joint tour between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition boss Raila Odinga.
Addressing the public in Sirembe School in Gem, the Devolution CS revealed that both the president and Odinga will visit the region to launch various projects and to promote unity.
Among the projects to be launched by the two leaders is aSh 2.1 Billion water project for Siaya County that is a partnership between National Government and African Development Bank (ADB).
He however failed to disclose the exact date when this will happen but hinted that it could be soon.
Wamalwa urged leaders on the ground to embrace the new spirit of unity championed by Odinga and Kenyatta.
“It is my wish as the CS in charge of devolution to see the golden handshake between the two leaders embraced even in counties. I am happy that the parliamentarians are already endorsed the code between former Prime Minister Raila and President Uhuru,” Wamalwa said.
Shortly after the March 09 handshake, the two leaders disclosed that they would embark on a joint national tour to promote unity in the country.
