Uhuru receives heroic welcome in Nyanza (Photos)

Uhuru commissioned multi-billion projects during his tour.

Uhuru’s tour to Homa Bay County drew unexpected huge crowds in a move similar to the one last week where Raila was received warmly in the President’s home turf of Kiambu.

During the tour, Uhuru declared Migingo Island was in Kenya saying officials had already mapped out the boundaries and the issue will be handled with dignity.

The President also opened up the Sh1 billion Mbita causeway bridge that will connect to the Mbita mainland and Rusinga Island.

Uhuru is also expected to later tour Kisumu County where he is expected to unveil his administration's Action Plan to deliver more jobs and lower prices by building the strong economic foundations necessary for the prosperity and transformation of the locals.

In Kisumu, Uhuru is expected to preside over the ground breaking ceremony of the Sh15 billion Kenya Breweries factory in the city.

Other projects expected to be commissioned includes the Sh9.4 billion Ahero-Kisii Road.

The project is jointly funded by the Africa Development Bank (AFDB) and the Government of Kenya.
