A Nigerian journalist identified as Kemi Olunloyo has sparked anger on social media after citing security concerns as the reason why she will not attend the ongoing African Women in Media conference.
“Kenyan fans, I will no longer be attending #AWiM19 African Women in Media due to a SECURITY THREAT as a result of the Al-Shabab bomb attack today in the Mogadishu Mayor's office. I will not be in #Nairobi tomorrow. Al-Shabab terrorists often operate in Kenya #Dusit#KemiOlunloyo,” tweeted the journalist.

The tweet has drawn the ire of Kenyans who said that she should know better than to tweet something like that given that she is African.
Among her top critics was journalist Waihiga Mwaura who tweeted: “Her bio reads and I’m not kidding, “Great Investigative & Medical Journalist.” SMDH. So what do you investigate if Nairobi is a no-go zone for you? 🙄For the record, Mogadishu is over 1000km away from Nairobi. I can’t deal right now. Signed Non-Kenyan Fans.”

However, Kemi seemed unfazed by the backlash and urged Kenyans to bring it on its Leo season.
“Mogbe! Kenyans have come for me. Bring it on! I’m a LEO and we entered season yesterday. Even Nairobi lions are STARVING”, read her tweet.
