We are sorry -Sauti Sol tells President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to an early statement Sauti Sol member Bien Barasa, the Studio Mashinani idea was theirs and at one time they had presented it to the government to seek implementation and support.

But according to an official press Release from Sauti Sol, the boy’s band have apologized to President Uhuru Kenyatta over their early remarks.

The release states that the Group met with Information Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru to iron out the earlier difference.

“We would like to issue a sincere apology to our President Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, for a statement which lead to his goodwill and intention being wrong (sic) interpreted by the media.It was not Bien’s intention to otherwise negate his kindness and are ready to issue this apology in person,” read part of the statement.

Sauti Sol had alarmed the public after some Jamaican Artist were invited to launch the Studio Mashinani idea at KICC last week.

Sauti Sol confirmed that indeed met with the cabinet Secretary and settled the matter that was raising eyebrows in the Studio Mashinani Idea.

One of the band members, Bien-Aimé Baraza,had revelaed earlier through a facebook page that the government had stolen their idea without their consent.

"On December 29 2015 I had the honor to meet with His Excellency the President in Statehouse Mombasa. The agenda was Kenya music industry and youth. My Sauti Sol brothers and I shared a proposal called Studio Mashinani with His Excellency. It was an extensive project involving music studios, community radio, ICT centres and libraries with the spirit of community service." Posted Bien Barasa.

According Information and Technology CS Joe Mucheru, the project aims to create self-employment opportunities for artists in Kenya.
