Chris Kantai’s mother expected in the country from the US

She is yet to be informed about son's death

The Mother to legendary Kenyan Rapper Chris Kantai who passed on, on Wednesday is expected to land in the country from the US where she stays.

Reports indicate that, the mother is yet to be informed about her son’s death, who passed on after developing breathing complications while undergoing treatment at the St Francis Community Hospital in Kasarani.

“When she arrives, we’ll take her to the hospital, where she will be informed about the development. We would, thereafter, embark on funeral plans,” said a family source.

Chris Kantai, who was famed for songs such as ‘Issues, ‘Huu ni nani G’ and ‘Ting Badi Malo’ a collabo with Khaligraph Jones passed on on Wednesday morning.

Kantai enjoyed a private life away from the media and is survived by a child.

Rapper Khaligraph Jones expressed displeasure in the way media handled Kantai’s comeback to the music industry hours after his death.

Papa Jones called on the media to stop waiting for artistes to die and start talking about how they inspired many people while they were still alive.

"This is 3 years ago when I did a song with the Late Kris Kantai but instead of the media motivating during his comeback, they only talked about how miserable he was cause of alcoholism even after he was done with rehab and was fully reformed,” read part of the post.
