Her death has been linked to the May assault by the Rhodes University Student council who wrote:“Her last post on social media is a haunting suggestion of the woeful circumstances she faced while she was alive; that is, her tragic passing is related to her having been a survivor of sexual assault.”

Following her death, people have taken to social media to mourn the young star and students will on Tuesday march to Settlers Monument in Grahamstown, South Africa. The monument is where the university usually holds its graduation ceremonies and where Khensani’s journey at Rhodes University would have ended.

“The monument is where the university traditionally holds its graduation ceremonies and where Khensani would have rounded off her journey through Rhodes University. The issue of sexual consent will be discussed in a series of talks tomorrow, which will be open to everyone on campus,”  Rhodes University said in a statement.
