Sauti Sol in trouble after Ezekiel Mutua’s new statement

Kenyan Boys Band Sauti Sol have landed in trouble with the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB)CEO Ezekiel Mutua after releasing their latest video without following the right procedure.

The KFCB CEO has issued a detailed statement in regard to the new Sauti Sol’s video “Melanin” ft Patoranking addressing the rumors that the video has been banned.

Mr. Mutua said that Sauti Sol have failed to submit the video for classification, and therefore it unsuitable for children consumption.

“The board takes great exception with Sauti Sol’s decision to release video without following content production and distribution regulations provided part II of the Film and stage plays Act, CAP 222 of the laws of Kenya” reads part of the statement

He added that although the video has not been submitted for clarification, it’s clear that it is unsuitable for children as it contains inappropriate scenes with intense classifiable.

He also said that the video should not be aired by any, media station during the watershed period, given that it is not suitable for general family viewing.

However, said that the KFCB board has not banned the video, but they will giving a new directive once the band has submitted it for clarification.
