The ‘Jibebe’ singer leaned out of his car to interact with fans and a couple of hands grabbed at his chest trying to get the chain and at the speed of lightning someone made away with it.
Commenting on the incident, a stunned Diamond wrote “Yanii hii ndio ile ‘Huamini Unachokiona’ ...Doh! kweli MTWARA Kuchele....ukiniangalia vizuri hapo baada ya kuporwa kama nikawa nina mawazo ghafla..... sjui nilitaka kulia.”

Sacrifice
Speaking on a radio interview, the singer revealed that he bought the white gold and diamond chains in America during a visit there. Going to Mtwara, he had the confidence that the chains would withstand force but he was shocked that someone was able to steal them so easily. “Zile zilikuwa white gold na diamond nilinunua Marekani. Sikumbuki lakini hazishuki million arubanne (Ksh1.8 Million). Nilijua haziwezi kung’oka, alivyotokea mtu ghafla akazipull nilipatwa na shock.”
While some people would be vexed after losing such a prized possession, Diamond decided to be positive about it and said that the chain was a sacrifice he was willing to make for the massive support his fans had shown him during the festival. “Lakini mwenyezi Mungu ndio anapanga kila kitu na wakati mwingine labda Mungu alitaka nitoe viwe sadaka na kwa support walonipa ina dhamani kubwa kuliko zile vitu na ninazo zingine kibao. Mi naona ni freshi tu kama baraka yake, zawadi yake.”
