Hezekia Ogany Omollo, a teacher at Toi Primary School in Nairobi has been charged with defiling a 13-year-old boy. The boy is a Class Six pupil in the school.
Indecent
The teacher also faces another charge of exposing the boy to an indecent act. He also denied this count before Senior Principal Magistrate Barbara Ojoo.
The accused had been sexually molesting the boy since 2016 according to the prosecution.
He was released on a Sh500,000 bond until October 8 when the case will be heard.
Bungoma
Joseph Okumu, a primary school teacher in Bungoma was charged with defiling an 11-year-old pupil.
The suspect allegedly abused the standard seven learner at the school library on March 8.
Okumu denied the accusations before Principal Magistrate Stephen Mogute, who heard the case in camera since it involved a minor.
Interference
The victim's mother claimed the school's administration had tried to interfere with the case.
"The incident took place last term but I learned about it when my daughter narrated the story this month," she said. "I took her to hospital for a check-up and it was confirmed that she was defiled."
