2 men die after falling out of plane

The airport was closed while the two bodies were removed from the runway.

Two men fell from the sky while trying to smuggle themselves into the United States. The men who were believed to have been stowaways on the flight to New York died after falling off the plane.

Police General Marcelo Tobar in Ecuador said that the two men hid in the plane’s landing gear and they fell to their deaths after the plane took off.

The Jose Joaquin de Olmedo airport was closed for about 90 minutes while the two bodies were removed from the runway.

So far, the police did not disclose the nationality or identities of the two individuals.

However, prosecutor Carlos Bustamante said that the plane came from Peru before it made a stop in Ecuador and headed to New York.

The Boeing 767-300, operated by Latam, returned to the airport but was then allowed to continue its journey.

Authorities in Ecuador said that they had not ruled out the possibility that others may have managed to remain on the plane in an attempt to reach the U.S., but they added that there have been no reports from the New York airport suggesting that this has occurred.

On 11 February, a body of a stowaway was found in a KQ flight from Kinshasa. The flight had landed when the body was discovered.

“He seemed to have frozen there and died. The body was discovered after the plane had landed,” said a witness at the airport.

Such cases are common where bodies of stowaways are found on flights after landing. This gives an indication of many people trying to escape from one place to the other for greener pastures.
