Decomposing body found on Westlands footbridge (Photos)
It is believed the man lived there
John Kimani, one of the volunteers who helped in its retrieval said the decomposing body was discovered by boda boda motorcycle riders who detected a foul smell at around 9 am Wednesday as reported by Nairobi News.
Living there
“I don’t understand how he got there but he must have been living there. It was very difficult to get the body down,” Mr Kimani said.
The body was stuck in a crevice of the bridge, between the stairs and the walkway and clothes and matchboxes were also found in the gap.
Traffic snarl up
The corpse was removed after the intervention of a multi-agency team made up of police officers from Spring Valley, the Nairobi County Fire and Rescue Department as well as volunteers, mostly boda boda riders.
Traffic moved slowly as motorists slowed down to get a glimpse of what was happening.
