Looking for a new hairdo?
We know how hard it is to decide on a hairstyle that works for your job, face and one that is budget friendly, when there's a plethora of styles to select from. Lucky for us, we can always draw some inspiration from celebs since they always look the part when it comes to all matters style and beauty.
One thing we African women have to grateful for is the versatility of our hair and the ability to switch up hairstyles whenever we feel like. While some of us prefer the safer option of having a signature look, it doesn't hurt to try out a new style. Break out from your comfort zone and try something new every once in a while and speaking of which, we have some styles to inspire your next look:
1. Elani's Wambui's natural slicked back hairstyle with a faux extension.
I love this Jasmine inspired look which is easy to achieve with a Marley hair extension. Good thing about this look is that you can wing it when it comes to extensions. Play around with different styles; you can create a top bun, a goddess jumbo braid or add bladders like Wambui, the options are there, you just gotta think outside the box or check out tutorials on YouTube.
2. Kambua's stylish midway cornrow braids.
How stunning is this style though? Elegant, super cute and stylish. Kambua is the ultimate natural hairstyles queen so you can never go wrong with 'stealing' hairstyles from her.
3. Sharon Mundia's super long braids.
We already showed you how fashion IT girls are rocking these butt-length braids. The style is perfect for campus or even the work life since you can tie them up into a chunky box braid bun then let them down for the weekend.
4. Just wig it like Betty Kyallo.
Even if you are a naturalista, it's important to invest in at least one wig for those days you may need to salvage a bad hair day or sport a different look say for a special occasion such as a wedding.
5. The good old relaxed hair.
If you're blessed with a good hairline like Anita Nderu, relax your hair and tie it at the back or into a top bun. Lay your edges and slay.
