However, when a partner who is HIV+ also have another STI such as herpes, syphillis or gonorrhea, the semen/vaginal fluid will have higher presence of the HIV virus.
This is because your body is fighting two viruses at once, so the viral load increases.
Having another infection present makes your immune system work even harder to fight the infection.

This is because the HIV virus resides in the white blood cells and therefore there will be a higher presence of HIV in your body.
For this reason, it is recommended that you always wear a condom if you are having sex with multiple partners.
If you have an increased risk of exposure to HIV, ensure that you use pre-exposure prophylactics (PrEP) so as to reduce the chances of getting HIV.
