2 KNEC exam officials fired after CS George Magoha found they had reported late for KCSE exercise at Moi-owned Sunshine Secondary School

Two officials administering the KCSE exams have been sacked after they were found to have reported late for the Monday morning exercise which kick-started at 7am.

A dramatic incident occurred after Education CS Fred Magoha arrived at the Moi-family-owned Sunshine Secondary School to find that the examination had not started as some officials, an invigilator and a supervisor, had not arrived.

The school's principal, Mr Paul Otula, was confronted by Magoha over the incident after which he explained that it was not his fault but the delay was occasioned by lateness by some of the KNEC-seconded officials.

Otula said he was supposed to have a total of twelve invigilators and a supervisor who had not arrived at the scheduled exercise start off - 7am.

The CS ordered for punitive action to be taken against the two officials after which students went ahead to sit their exams.

Sunshine Secondary School, located in Nairobi's Lang'ata area, is one of the best performing private schools in the country.

Apart from Sunshine, former President Daniel arap Moi's family also own Kabarak High School, and Sacho High School - which are equally in the list of the best performing private schools.
