2 shot dead in early morning robbery

Two suspected thugs were shot dead on Tuesday morning after they tried robbing a bar in Gatundu South.

According to a report by Citizen Digital, police busted four robbers trying to steal from a pub in Gatitu at around 3 am, and a shootout broke out.

Reports said that one of the thugs died on the spot while the other was found dead in a nearby farm after he managed to escape from the scene of the shootout.

Two of the suspects were arrested and taken to Gatundu Police Station.

Further reports said that a neighbor heard a commotion and decided to call the bar owner who sought the intervention of police from Muhoho Police post.

Four killed

This comes a day after Police in Nairobi killed four people suspected to have been behind the murder of Catholic Priest John Njoroge.

The four armed men were gunned down at Kinoo by officers from the Special Crimes Prevention Unit near K1 Club, with one of them escaping on foot.

According to police, the vehicle the suspects were using was the one used when Father John Njoroge Muhia of Kinoo Parish was attacked and killed on December 10.
