Three people on Tuesday afternoon died after a boat capsized near the Kao Beach in Nyatike Constituency, Migori County.

The three were among ten passengers who were travelling in Gucha River when they water started leaking into their boat before it capsized.

Seven others were rescued in the incident confirmed by North Kadem Beach Chairman John Wenje.

Wenje said locals were fast to respond to the crisis and helped rescue the seven survivors.

Those who perished include Grace Adhiambo, Mary Adhiambo and Wycliffe Otieno.

Nyatike OCPD John Mutsili said they were investigating the incident even as rescuers continued search for Mary Adhiambo’s body.
