The accident occurred at Tula area along the Mwingi-Garissa road where it is reported that the Nasiib Sacco bus ferrying passengers to Wajir rammed into the trailer.
Eyewitnesses narrated that the bus drove onto the stationary trailer at around 11:30 p. m. on Sunday night with some speculating that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle.
The injured were rushed to the Garissa Referral Hospital for treatment.
One of the survivours from the incident narrated that the bus driver attempted to overtake a trailer without realizing that another trailer was parked on the side of the road.
An attempt to swerve away from the stationary truck resulted in the side of the Nasiib bus being torn off and passengers were unfortunately harmed.

Mombasa Road also experienced an accident at the GM area which caused a back log of traffic.
An NTSA survey released last week indicated that most fatal accidents happen on Sundays followed by Monday, Friday and the least number noted on Saturdays with majority of the accidents happening between 6 p. m. and 8 p. m.
