A 12-year-old boy on Monday killed a 2-year-old girl while he was driving his parents' car in Komarock Estate.

According to the girl's father, Mr Derrick Wayodi, he and his daughter had gone to visit the Standard eight boy at his home after they heard that he had broken his hand.

The boy's family and Mr Wayodi are neighbours, living only 200 metres away from each other in a gated community.

"The boy left us talking in the house. After about five minutes, I also decided to leave.

"That's when I heard screams and saw the boy running towards me. I asked him why he was running and he said he had accidentally hit my two-year-old daughter Angel with a car," Wayodi narrated to The Standard.

Angel's father narrated that he found his daughter laying unconscious in a pool of her own blood with parts of her body appearing swollen.

The girl was rushed to the Komarock Modern Hospital where she died while being attended to. The doctors reported that she was bleeding from the mouth and ears and her skull had been fractured.

"Angel was such a joy bringer, the day she died we all cried the whole night; we could not sleep," the father mourned his daughter.

Mr Wayodi together with the boy and his family recorded statements with the police on Wednesday. Wayodi has pressed charges against the boy and his family saying he is seeking justice for his daughter.

"I implore the police and the government to do their work without fear or favour," he stated.

The estate chairman John Mwangi added: "The life of this little girl has been cut short due to negligence. The boy is a minor and had no driving license."
